Goring Gap Health Walks welcome you to their Web site in their 14th Year

This web site was last updated on 25 April 2012.

Our goal is to provide you with useful information about our Health Walking Group, the part of Oxfordshire and Berkshire in which we walk and walk related links.

Goring Gap Health Walks are part of Natural England's Walking for Health Initiative (WfH) and one of the most successful fully independent WfH groups in the country. There are nearly 600 other groups all over the country with 16,000 trained leaders and over 1 Million walkers have walked under the scheme. (see links to find the comprehensive WHI web site and walk finder).

We are a WfH Accredited Scheme. See Latest News page for more details

Please go to Latest News for the most up to date information about our activities, Timetable for the current details of when we walk and where we meet or Leaders Rosters if you want to know who is leading a walk.

New walkers should look at Which Walk? to determine the best walk to start them off. There is a page called Fitness Formulas for those that want to know what their limits are!

We welcome new regular walkers at all levels. Visitors to the area are very welcome to walk with us, even if it is only once.

Goring-on-Thames is on the border between South Oxfordshire and West Berkshire, Central Southern England, 10 miles north of Reading and 20 miles south of Oxford.
The post code where our walks start is RG8 9AG
OS 1:50 000 Landranger Series Map no. 175, Grid reference 605 815

(Please note that the Village Hall is between the Free Church and the River. The unmarked road opposite is Thames Road. There is a picture of the Village Hall on the Timetable page).
