CoronaVirus - COVID-19 - update
Under the latest Government lockdown rules 'RoadMap' we will be able to restart walks from Tuesday 13th April.
There is no official restriction on numbers this time, but some of our leaders are reluctant to have large groups. Therefore the Tuesday & Friday groups will have four leaders until things settle down.
As in November the Timetable will be restricted to the following:
Tuesday 10:00 B only
Friday 10:00 C only
Saturday 08:00 A+
Saturday 09:00 A/B
Sunday 10:00 B
Social Distancing rules should be observed at all times.
Masks are optional at the start point.
Help us get back to a normal timetable please.
If you think you might be able to help co-lead a walk or two as an 'Assistant', please contact me so that I can send you more information.

ramblers Walking scheme changes
The Ramblers have announced that they will be closing Walking for Heath in September 2021.
In April the transition from Ramblers Walking for Health to Ramblers Wellbeing walks will begin.
The transition is planned to be complete by July when there will be an official public launch.
Part of the change is Ramblers require a registration fee which SODC have agreed to pay.
None of this will affect our walking group in any way. Only some of the administration system will change.
It will take some time for me to update all the links from WfH to RWW, so please bear with me while that happens.
GGW will continue in the way that we like it whatever happens.

Walk with me 2021
I've signed up yet again to help marshal and photograph the Walk With Me marathon (26 mile) walk from Moulsford Prep School on 9th May.
The walk uses much of the Ridgeway, but this year there is a change of route via Goring, Westridge Green, Aldworth, Compton, Upton, Blewbury Down and Moulsford (not necessarily in that order) included.
The organisers are looking for walkers and they also need martial for the checkpoints.
If you want to take part there are organised training walks to get you fit. Click here for more details.
If you'd like to help marshal, get in touch with Annabel Stone direct.
Pictures of past walks (taken by me) can be found here

Leaders
We have have a pool of around 40 trained leaders. However not all are 'active' as some are 'shielding' or 'indisposed' for various reasons. We are always on the lookout for more leaders, or back up leaders (who do not need formal training to make a difference). Get in touch with Bernard if you would like to find out more about being a leader.
There is no need for regular commitment or to be a main leader, you will be just as welcome to become a back up leader.
