Only cross where you have a clear view of the road in both directions
Walk slowly and to the side particularly on slopes
Don't step in unless the water is clear and the depth is known
Walk on fresh snow rather than compacted ice
Take care not to catch finger in latches or hinges
Be aware and don't use fences to aid balance
Listen for gunshot. Ensure beaters are aware of your presence
Check surface before climbing over. Use hand holds
Divert route and keep dogs on lead
Take care not to jar knees when descending. When crossing A329, ensure that you allow for fast moving traffic
Look for signs of fresh digging. Warn others if you see one
Scan ahead and ring the bells provided
